Learning Communities are programs in which a group of students enrolls in two or more courses organized around a common theme, project or problem. The purpose of learning communities is to create a more integrated experience, to provide greater coherence in the curriculum and to increase collaboration of students and faculty in the pursuit of learning.

	Comments: Learning Framework and Math The Learning Framework and Math Community provides the foundation for learning in core curriculum courses at Richland, particularly Math. We start with a vision of the autonomous learner as the ultimate prize. The world, even knowledge itself is changing so fast that unless we can learn how to learn, we'll fall hopelessly behind. The learning theories studied will give you a sense of what is involved in learning and our attempts to learn, including strategies. This is a Learning Community and you will be enrolled in both DMAT and EDUC and receive six hours credit.
